Rendering Distance

This is a series of reviews about video game-related media. It can be art books, novels, radio dramas, even rock operas, but will probably be television, movies, and comics the most often. It’s also not limited to adaptations of gaming franchises either. It can be about characters who play wholly original online games, or characters who seem to have extra lives in real life, or a movie filmed entirely from a first-person perspective, or something that uses other gaming-specific tropes or is clearly influenced throughout by gaming. Video games are a relatively young form of media and it’s fascinating to study how their influence bleeds into other forms of media.
